I am no able to turn off wifi.  I have gone thru the other solutions and none worked.  I do not have any buttons or sliders or options to turn off wifi, or disable wifi.  It only shows the wifi networks my neighbors are broadcasting.  My driver is the latest updated it says.  I only see the wireless icon if the ethernet is unplugged, but I can get to it thru control panel.  And, again, there is no button to turn on or off.

Computer is attached via ethernet to a router that has wifi turned off also.

Is it possible to turn off wifi?

I went to Device Manager  >Network Adaptr >Driver and "disabled" it.  This is the only way I found to turn it off as there is no button to easily toggle it...

I have found that it make no difference. When the ethernet is plugged in everything gets transmitted through it first. If the ethernet is not working then the system will try wifi as  a back up. I have transmitted on ethernet while printing things on my printer which is wifi at the same time.
