HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC 24-ca2000i (6L7A7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

After having this product for nearly 1 year, it now won’t connect to the internet at all or come up with any other internet options. Could it be as simple as something is blocking the signal upstairs? I’ve tried everything and followed all of the videos. My laptop, phone and wireless printer all work in the same room so I’m stumped.

Hi @SJ12347

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If your HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC 24-ca2000i is having trouble connecting to the internet while other devices in the same room work fine, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. Here’s a systematic approach to help resolve the problem:

1. Check Wi-Fi Settings

Ensure Wi-Fi is Enabled:

  • Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar and make sure it is turned on.
  • If the icon is missing or Wi-Fi is not listed, you may need to enable it in Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.

Forget and Reconnect to the Network:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
  • Click Manage known networks and select your Wi-Fi network.
  • Click Forget, then reconnect to the network by selecting it from the available networks list and entering the password.

2. Run Network Troubleshooter

  1. Open Network Troubleshooter:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    • Click on Internet Connections and then Run the troubleshooter.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix any network issues.

3. Check for Driver Issues

Update Network Adapter Driver:

  • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Network adapters and locate your Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Intel, Realtek).
  • Right-click on the adapter and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Reinstall Network Adapter Driver:

  • In Device Manager, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

4. Check for System Updates

  1. Update Windows:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    • Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @SJ12347,

Please find the remaining steps below.

5. Reset Network Settings

  1. Reset Network Settings:
    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
    • Scroll down and click on Network reset.
    • Click Reset now and restart your computer.

6. Check Physical Connections

Inspect Wi-Fi Hardware:

  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi antenna or internal components are not physically damaged. Sometimes, a loose or damaged antenna can cause connectivity issues.

Check Router Placement:

  • Although other devices are working, try moving your desktop closer to the router to rule out potential interference or signal blockage.

7. Disable VPN or Proxy Settings

  1. Check VPN or Proxy:
    • If you use a VPN or proxy, disable it and check if the connection improves.

8. Check for Windows Firewall or Antivirus Settings

  1. Temporarily Disable Firewall/Antivirus:
    • Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block network connections. Temporarily disable them to see if this resolves the issue.

9. Perform a System Restore

  1. System Restore:
    • If the issue started recently, you might use System Restore to revert your system to a state before the problem began.
    • Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection.
    • Click System Restore and follow the prompts to select a restore point.

These steps should help diagnose and potentially fix the connectivity issue with your HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop PC. If you encounter any specific errors or If none of the above steps work, contact HP Phone Support for further assistance. There may be a hardware issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
