Hi @Dainajah,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP All-in-One - 24-g010 desktop is only showing an Ethernet connection and not WiFi after a reset, it could be due to a disabled WiFi adapter, missing or outdated drivers, or incorrect settings. Here's how to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check WiFi Adapter Status
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters and look for your wireless adapter (e.g., Realtek, Intel, or Broadcom).
- If you see a downward arrow, right-click it and choose Enable.
- If there's a yellow triangle, update or reinstall the driver (steps below).
2. Install or Update Wireless Adapter Driver
- Connect your desktop to the internet via Ethernet.
- In Device Manager, right-click the wireless adapter and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If Windows cannot find the driver:
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest WiFi drivers for your specific desktop model.
3. Check WiFi is Enabled in Windows Settings
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to Network & Internet > WiFi.
- Ensure WiFi is toggled on.
- Click Show available networks to connect to your network.
4. Verify WiFi Adapter in BIOS
- Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing F10 during startup).
- Look for a setting related to Wireless Adapter or LAN/WLAN Switching and ensure it is enabled.
- Save changes and exit.
5. Run Network Troubleshooter
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Navigate to Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Network Adapter, then click Run the troubleshooter.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and resolve any issues.
6. Reset Network Settings
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run the following commands: netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
- Restart your computer and check for WiFi.
7. Check for Hardware Issues
- Ensure the WiFi antenna (if external) is properly connected to the desktop.
- If the WiFi adapter is not detected in Device Manager, it may be a hardware failure. Consider:
- Replacing the adapter (if replaceable).
- Using a USB WiFi adapter as an alternative.
Let me know if any step needs clarification!
