Dell Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After faultless use for over a year, for a non-printing bout, I D/L latest updates, Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer for Wireless connection... as previous. Now get failures to recognize, although printer is visible, and get  Code -41  - not activated.

 Any suggestion/comments appreciated, Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

I understand that you are unable to print from email.

Try to print from different browser and check if the issue persists.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Envy 7640 printer. I understand that you are getting error code 41 and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • When did this issue start?
  • Did you do any hardware or software changes on the printer or computer?

Meanwhile:

Perform hard reset on the printer.

  • Remove the power cable from the printer when it is turned on.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30secs.
  • Connect the power cable to the printer and directly to the wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer.

Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.

Cheers.

Thank you.  The issue commenced when some, usually OK, printing failed. I used the  HP Scan/Print Dr. program which cleared the Print Spool. Further attempt to print produce negative results.  After several attempts to print following these actions, I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled by the DL Full web  EXE. ( Twice, so far.)

Everything appears to function, but only printing is via Internal Print Reports.

Emails will not print, giving me the advice that the printer is not activated.

Very confusing.   There has been  recent W10 update(s)

Help appreciated, thanks.

Many thanks again for your response. I finally contacted HP ..in the Philippines !!! The young lady remotely checked out the computer and made some adjustments. Most printing is now working, I think, with the exception of an Embroidery Programme. I will do a reinstall of it and see how it goes.

Thanks again
