Hi everyone,
My HP desktop keeps losing Wi-Fi connection randomly. Sometimes it even stops detecting available networks until I restart the PC.

I’ve already updated drivers, restarted the router, and reinstalled the adapter, but the issue still comes back — mostly after sleep mode or Windows updates.

Has anyone else faced this? Any permanent fix or setting I might be missing?

Thanks!

Hi:

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your PC come with?

Hi: @Paul_Tikkanen

Thanks for the quick response!
My PC has a Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter.

Do you think updating the driver from Realtek’s site or HP Support might help?
I already tried reinstalling through Device Manager, but the issue still comes back after sleep mode.

You're very welcome.

I believe that your only option would be to see if updating the Wi-Fi driver will resolve the problem.

Actually the drivers Realtek releases to HP are newer than those on the Realtek site, and I didn't see any listed for the RTL8822CE.

Below is the link to the latest Wi-Fi driver HP currently has for that model Wi-Fi adapter:

Version 2024.10.230.600      June/11/2025

sp162860.exe

Thank you so much, Paul — really appreciate your detailed explanation and for sharing the HP driver link.
I wasn’t aware that HP’s releases are actually newer than Realtek’s own site, so that’s really helpful to know.
I’ll download and install the version you mentioned (sp162860.exe, 2024.10.230.600) and see if it resolves the Wi-Fi issue after sleep mode.

Thanks again for taking the time to guide me — your support really helps community members like me learn and troubleshoot more confidently!
