HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

using Google Chrome to go to the Help Centre in my HP Smart on my pc.
I have a choice of Printing, Scanning, Shortcuts, Fax - I choose one and nothing happens.

I have tried to right click and ask to open in new windor - taking me to google chrome - same thing.

I can't get the help information to show.

Any ideas?

Thinking maybe a pop up window problem?

Remember I am useless these days on IT - keep the answer simples.

Hi @LydiatattooAu, Welcome to HP Support Community. 👋

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's like knocking on a door🚪and no one answers when you try to open the Help Centre, right? Let's figure out why that door might be staying stubbornly shut🔒and gently nudge it open for you.

It really does sound like a sneaky pop-up blocker🚫might be standing guard💂‍♀️, preventing the HP Help Centre from gracefully appearing. Imagine a bouncer at a club, unintentionally blocking the very people you want to let in! Let's try to politely tell that pop-up blocker to make an exception for the HP Smart Help Centre.

Try these simple steps:

Allow Pop-ups in Chrome for HP Smart

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click the three dots (⁝) in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. On the left menu, click Privacy and security.
  5. Click Site settings.
  6. Scroll down and click Pop-ups and redirects.
  7. Under Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects, click Add.
  8. Type: https://support.hp.com and click Add.

Now, restart Chrome and try opening the Help Centre again.

Try a Different Browser

If Chrome still doesn’t work, try using Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox instead.

Open HP Support Directly

Instead of using HP Smart, go to HP Support in your browser and search for your printer model (HP OfficeJet Pro 8710).

I hope this helps. 🙂

Take care and have a good day. 😇☀️
