HP Z2 SFF G9 Workstation Desktop PC (4Y0G3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Z2 SFF G9 work station didn't come with an internal wi fi adapter.  I have had several plug in usb adapters but they do not reliably pick up the signal.  Is it possible/advisable to install an internal wi fi datapter on the motherboard.

Please advise.

Normally, if the PC didn't come with the optional M.2 Wi-Fi adapter, there are no antenna wires inside the case.

You can check to see if your PC happens to have the two antenna wires that would be required.

If your PC does not have the internal antenna wires to connect to a M.2 wifi card, you can buy a M.2 desktop Wi-Fi kit with external antennas.

You install the M.2 Wi-Fi card in the available M.2 Wi-Fi slot.

Something like this:  This kit has both the standard and SFF antenna mounting brackets.
