HP Z6 G4 Work Station
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

There are no Bluetooth adapters showing in the device manager even though the network card I have installed is Bluetooth capable and was used on a previous computer.

I have installed a number of different drivers, updated everything I can think of and followed all the trouble shooting help that I can find.

Appreciate any help,

Thanks

Bryce

Network Adapter: Intel AC-3168

Hi, Bryce:

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see that the HP Z6 G4 Workstation has a M.2 slot to support a Wi-Fi adapter.

Is the Intel AC-3168 in a PCIe x1 adapter?

If so, you have to connect the USB cable that goes from the back of the PCIe x1 Wi-Fi card to your PC's internal 9-pin USB header to get the Bluetooth to work.

Thanks Paul,

I did some more digging around before you responded and noticed my card did not come with a cable for the USB header so I completely missed it.

But you nailed it on the header as it were.

Thanks for the quick response.

Cheers.

You're very welcome.

Maybe you can contact the vendor and ask them to send you a cable.

There are a couple of different cables that can be used on those devices.

One is a straight 9-pin to 9-pin cable that you can connect to either end.

Another one has a smaller female connector with less contacts on one end and the standard 9-pin USB female connector on the other end.  There are two types of those.
