I have a desktop hp pavilion which I am trying to connect to my home network. However when I go into the settings for wifi my network does not appear. I am not savy at all on what to do and could use some help on this. I have tried youtube videos and I am a real idiot I guess. any help would be greatly appreciated. trying to get the computer up for my daughters summer classes online.

@jenlo Don't be too harsh on yourself, it happens to the best of us, that said, here's a few things that should help you with this issue:
Did you attempt to install the latest drivers from HP website?
(Click here, if you haven't done that yet)
While you respond to that, The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
P.S: Welcome to HP Community 😉
Let me know how that pans out,
