No matter how i connect this desktop to my network, it bogs the network down to a crawl. I just did a full recovery and have added nothing. I have tried wired and wireless. I have removed the wireless card and run wired. I have tried three different wireless connections, including two PCI cards and a USB wireless dongle. I have tried two different routers. Typical ping to google is around 40 -50 ms. When i connect the HP, ping times are minimum 800 ms, with many timeouts. Other PCs on my small home net cause no problem. PC is useless if i can't use it on the net. Any suggestions appreciated. I have a strong PC background, but can't figure this out. Repeating, wired OR wireless, doesn't matter. Thanks.
