Solved!

HP update installed updates and now I can't connect using Ethernet nor wi-if

HP Recommended
Omen 870-003na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP update ran today and installed HP Sure Connect, Realtek Card Reader, Realtek Audio Driver

 

Now I can't connect using with Ethernet nor Wi-if but my iPad connects via the same wi-if network.

 

help, please

Try Microsoft restore.

Unfortunately, dumbo here didn't realise that in Windows 10 the default is for System Restore to be switched off, so that's not an option.

 

i have now managed to get Outlook sending and receiving email, bit neither Edge nor Chrome can connect to any site.

 

going through the list of software updates installed yesterday, I have

 

Intel Wireless Bluetooth

Realtek High Definition Audio Driver

Realtek Card Reader

Dropbox

 

are any of these likely to be the culprit?

OK, well I have now established (by means of uninstalling all software that was updated from the 12th onwards, one piece at a time) that the culprit was Cyberlink Power Media Player 14.

 

Having removed that, all is well (and yes, I have created a Restore point).
