My Envy 700-515xt desktop computer motherboard died and I'm in contact with sellers on eBay to buy a replacement, but I'm wondering about hardware variations that might be significant, like the dual band LAN I specified when I bought the computer new from HP.
And perhaps the audio might be different -- Integrated Audio vs Beats. Or the video capability -- Intel Integrated Graphics vs none at all (perhaps) if a separate NVIDIA GeForce GT720 or GT745 was specified when the seller's computer was ordered. I hope that the Intel Integrated Graphics is always present, and can be disabled if a standalone video card is later added (like I did).
Or the chipset, Intel Z97 vs Z87.
I'm having the sellers send me high resolution pictures of their motherboards, and hopefully someone can tell me where to look to see which options are on the seller's motherboard.
I'm just not familiar enough with motherboard design to know whether any of the above described are hardware options that I might miss out on if they aren't things that I can simply unplug from my motherboard and plug in to the seller's motherboard.
I also hope to plug my SSD into the motherboard and boot up as if I never had a hardware failure, but I think sometimes the operating system prohibits that -- some sort of serialization scheme of Microsoft.
Thanks for your help !
