Hi - bought a HP 230 wireless keyboard and mouse combo in Sep-24 from Amazon. It has stopped working some of the keyboard keys are defective. Serial No is not recognised on the HP website so I cannot get any assistance/replacement. Please advise?

Hi @4556rrr ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand it’s frustrating when a new device starts acting up, and I can understand how the serial number issue makes this more challenging. Here’s what you can try:

  • Verify Serial Number Format: Sometimes, serial numbers can be tricky to read (e.g., zeroes and O's may look similar). Ensure the serial number is entered exactly as shown, including any hyphens or other symbols.
  • Check with Amazon Support: Since you purchased this from Amazon, they may assist with verifying the serial number or even provide an exchange within their own warranty period. Amazon usually has a solid customer service team for purchase-related issues.
  • Warranty Coverage Proof: Keep your Amazon purchase receipt handy, as HP may request it to verify your warranty coverage. This can also be helpful if they require proof of purchase to proceed with a replacement or repair.
  • Check Batteries and USB Dongle: If you haven’t already, double-check that the USB dongle is securely connected and that the batteries in both the keyboard and mouse are fresh, as sometimes connection issues or partial function loss can be due to power issues.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, let me know, and I can suggest further troubleshooting steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
