Chrome OS

I do not have a dongle to connect a MORFGIUO hp wireless mouse and I am unable to connect it to my Chromebook. I have held down the connect button until the red light starts to flash but it doesn't show up on my pair new device list.

Hi @Ace_-,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Connecting a wireless mouse without its dedicated USB dongle can be tricky, especially if it doesn't support Bluetooth. Here are some steps you can follow to try to connect your MORFGIUO HP wireless mouse to your Chromebook.

Check Compatibility: Verify that your mouse supports Bluetooth. If it only supports a proprietary wireless connection through its dongle, it won't be able to connect directly via Bluetooth.

Enable Bluetooth on Chromebook:

  • Click on the status area (bottom-right corner where the clock is).
  • Click on the Bluetooth icon to ensure it's turned on.
  • If it's off, click the toggle to turn it on.

Put the Mouse in Pairing Mode:

  • Press and hold the connect button on your mouse until the red light starts flashing, indicating it’s in pairing mode.

Pair the Mouse:

  • On your Chromebook, click on the status area and select the Bluetooth icon.
  • Click on "Pair new device".
  • Wait for the Chromebook to detect your mouse. It should appear in the list of available devices.

Select the Mouse:

  • Once your mouse appears in the list, click on it to initiate pairing.
  • Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
