Hi:

Are you sure your PC came with a combination wifi/Bluetooth adapter?

That was a configured to order model, and there was only one wireless network adapter that also had Bluetooth.

Do you see a Bluetooth device manager category in the device manager?

If not, your PC is lacking Bluetooth networking hardware.

Thanks for responding Paul. This was a 2011 build and contains a LQ195AV Wireless-N LAN Card option. I do not see a bluetooth add. So I suppose I would need something like a USB Bluetooth Adapter...would that work directly with my wireless UE speaker? You sound very knowledgeable. If this is what I need to do what would be your recommendation for a longer range usage? Thanks, Eric

You're very welcome.

The part number you referenced is for a  HP WLAN 802.11 G/N 2X2 wifi adapter.  No Bluetooth is mentioned.

Yes, it would be very simple for you to just add a USB Bluetooth adapter.

I use this one for example.  It worked with a cheap Bluetooth speaker I have, but I can't guarantee it will work with yours.

It should.  This model is very popular and has the Broadcom bluetooth radio.

You will need to install the drivers for it since you are running W7.   Windows 10 installs the drivers automatically.

Here is the support site for the Kinovo bluetooth adapter, where you can download the W7 drivers.

I bought mine a few years ago, and don't remember if it came with a driver disk or not.  I don't think I did.

Thanks again. I am looking at some that are supposed to have reception at a greater distance.
