I am unable to set up the lifetime free microsoft office. Have tried it multiple times. Need help.

I have purchased this laptop from a retail shop and they said that this laptop has lifetime free microsoft office access but when I try to sign into microsoft, it says "start your free trial of 1 month" or "use your activation key", which I do not have; neither I can start a free trial of a month as it is supposed to be lifetime free. Very  disappointed with the purchase as it has just been 2 weeks and no solutions yet. There is no actual agent/representative with whom I can talk to, this is creating a lot more difficulty. All I could get was this "community" page via the hp virtual support. This purchase was a gift to myself and now it is not even giving me the basic help of documents usage through microsoft. Feeling disheartened as I am trying everything from days now. If there is someone reading this, kindly help me, it is urgently needed, thanks.

I would think if they made that claim, then an activation key should be supplied.

HP does not have control over Microsoft Office offers.
