Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

For my desktop: HP Pavilion p2 Series, Product  Number QP812AA#ABA.

For my monitor: HP w185e, Product Number XL883A.

I don't know what all has been done to the computer. I have a DVI-D cable and an ethernet cable. The internet I am using is Netgear.

Did you try with a different cable and check if it works.

Do you see any light while connecting the cable?

Do you see any red x or exclamation mark on the on ethernet on the taskbar?

Keep me posted.

We originally had a VGA canle but the port is broken so we switched to DVI-D. There is a red X on the internet icon on the taskbar. I don't remember if i have seen a light come on anywhere... if there is a light, i can't tell. Should i look closer for a light? Would that be more helpful?

Thank you so much for replying!
