HP 725 Keyboard Mouse

Hello,

I purchased HP725 keyboard and mouse model last two days ago.

When i plugged unifying usb dongle, mouse is connecting fastly but keyboard has not response.

When i try to add as manuel mode via usb dongle, i am getting an error: "A different connected device is detected and then selected. Please select the correct device and try device pairing again". I already selected correct device..

All in all, two bluetooth connection has no issue but unifying usb dongle has issue connect keyboard to desktop.

I already tried;

-Different computer

-Different os (windows 10 and windows 11)

-Different usb ports

I shouldn't have had this problem on a 2 day old device

@ysner, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP725!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Since the keyboard works fine over Bluetooth, it seems like the issue is specifically with the unifying USB dongle. Here are a few additional things you could try:

Re-pair the keyboard using HP Accessory Center – If you haven’t already, try using the HP Accessory Center app to manually re-pair the keyboard to the dongle.

Check for driver updates – Ensure that your system has the latest keyboard and USB drivers installed. You can check in Device Manager under "Keyboards" and "Universal Serial Bus controllers."

Reset the keyboard – If your keyboard has a reset button (usually on the back or bottom), try resetting it and then attempt pairing again.

Test the dongle with another HP wireless keyboard – If you have access to another HP device that uses a unifying dongle, check if it pairs correctly. This will help determine if the issue is with the dongle itself.

Let me know if this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

I am facing the same issue with HP 720 keyboard. BT connection works fine but when I try to pair with unifying dongle I get error massage: "A different connected device is detected and then selected. Please select the correct device and try device pairing again".
