This workstation was delivered in mid-April 2023. It is accessed remotely and is not connected to a monitor/keyboard. This means that the described issue is for external access. Only a few software packages are installed.
The Intel I219-LM ethernet connection worked as it should the first weeks, but after that, it started disconnecting at irregular intervals. When this happens the 1 Gbps router shows a 10 Mbps connection and no Rx packets are arriving. The only way to bring the connectivity back is to physically remove the power adapter from the computer (restart is not enough) and bring it back up. There are no records of the issue in the event viewer.
Tested settings to avoid this issue:
Tried 3 different routers.
Ethernet card advanced settings:
Energy efficient ethernet: off
Link speed battery saver: off
System idle power saver: disabled
Ultra-low power mode: disabled
Link speed: set to fixed 1 Gbps
Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power: disabled
BIOS:
Turned off PCIe power management options.
Intel I219-LM driver version: 12.19.2.50
Bios: 02.01.05
Has submitted HP support case 5107023798 but no response in 3 weeks.
I have been thinking that this is a hardware issue, but the recent days it disconnects around 8 AM every day, which speaks against this.
