Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Your HP Pavilion 500-210qe CTO Desktop PC has a Gigabit Ethernet port, which means it supports speeds up to 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps). If you're already at this limit, increasing it would require hardware upgrades. Here are some options,
Upgrade to a 2.5GbE or 10GbE Network Card
Your motherboard likely has a PCIe slot. You can install a 2.5GbE or 10GbE PCIe network adapter, which allows faster speeds (if your router and internet plan support it).
- Example: Intel X550-T2 (10GbE) or TP-Link TX401 (2.5GbE)
Upgrade Your Router and Internet Plan
- If your internet plan only provides up to 1 Gbps, upgrading won't help unless your ISP offers multi-gigabit speeds.
- Ensure your router supports 2.5GbE or 10GbE and has a multi-gig port for faster speeds.
Use Link Aggregation (If Your Router Supports It)
- Some high-end routers and switches allow link aggregation, meaning you can combine two 1GbE connections for up to 2 Gbps speeds.
- This requires a dual-port network card and proper router support.
Use Faster Wi-Fi (if Wired Isn’t an Option)
- If upgrading Ethernet isn't viable, you could use a Wi-Fi 6E (or Wi-Fi 7) PCIe adapter for speeds beyond 1 Gbps.
- Example: TP-Link Archer TXE75E (Wi-Fi 6E)
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
