Keyboard does not communicate with PC except immediately after a restart. it can be working fine, I go away for a little while, and when I come back I have to restart the PC to be able to type. I  have run all the troubleshooters..

@sjbarden Have you checked device manager - properties - power management tab and allow the device to wake up this computer on your keyboard? Please do if you haven't.

Try reinstalling or look for the latest driver on HP support site for the graphics chipset for I/o devices: Click here to find and install the same.

Also, Click on Start > type cmd in the search box and enter.

At that C: prompt, type chkdsk exactly as written here with the gap before the slash, then hit Enter.

And let me know if that makes a difference.

P.S: Welcome to HP Forums! 😉

I hope that answers your query,
