i225-V 2.5 GBe NIC - 169K0AA

Hello everyone,

I currently have an HP Elitedesk 800 G6 Mini with an HP Intel i225 2.5 Gbe NIC (part number 169K0AA) installed. I have Linux (Ubuntu 24.04) as an OS. I am hoping to obtain the latest NVM for this chipset, which I understand to be 1.94. Currently, I have 1.57, and have no further way to upgrade via the OS. I have attempted using the nvmupdate64e binary contained in the latest Intel Ethernet Controller Driver Update Pack, but receive a "Device not detected" error. Any guidance would be great.

Thank you,

4Roses

Hello did you manage to resolve the problem? Was in the end he upgrade to the latest version NVM needed?

Is the NIC working in the end?

I  am asking because I am planning to upgrade to the same setup

Hi Mike,

Unfortunately no solution to this. The nvmupdater64 binary did not work. I also installed Windows on the machine to possibly have some luck with the Intel Ethernet Driver Pack. Lastly, I contacted HP, and they provided me with a firmware updater tool for technicians. There was no available firmware update for the NIC. It is still on

Despite all this, the card works fine in Linux, as well as Windows from what I can tell. I run it on a Proxmox host for virtualization. No issues. My main point of frustration is with the NIC's behavior in FreeBSD/OPNsense. Absolute nightmare. But as long as you're running Linux (Debian/Ubuntu), I wouldn't dissuade you from getting the NIC.

Hope this helps
