I purchased a HP Omni Desktop a week ago. I also have a Dell Laptop. On both devices I use the windows phonelink. I have windows11 on both devices. I have no issues using phonelink on the laptop. I can access audio and hear and talk through the phonelink through the laptop. However, on the Omni desktop I can't toggle the audio on the phone, when linked though BT. The toggle of audio on my galaxy keeps toggling off. I've updated my Omni desktop for windows. I've checked the microphone in settings and I'm seeing both settings set to on. I've turned on and off my phone and omni. I'm at a loss. What can I do to enable the microphone for phonelink to work for the omni and galaxy.

@nancyh10301, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing issues with using audio via Microsoft Phone Link on your new HP Omni Desktop. Let's walk through some steps to help resolve this.
Check Bluetooth Audio Device Settings
- On your Galaxy phone, go to: Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > [Your HP PC] > Gear Icon
- Ensure "Call audio" is enabled. If it keeps toggling off:
- Unpair the PC from the phone.
- Restart both devices.
- Re-pair and recheck the toggle.
Ensure Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile (HFP) is Enabled
- On your HP Omni:
- Press Win + X → Device Manager
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers
- Look for Bluetooth Hands-Free Audio or similar.
- If missing, update Bluetooth drivers (see below).
Update Bluetooth and Audio Drivers
- Visit the HP support page for your model: Official HP® Support
- Download and install the latest:
- Bluetooth driver
- Realtek or Intel Audio driver
- HP Support Assistant (to auto-detect updates)
Check Microphone Permissions for Phone Link
- On your HP Omni:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone
- Ensure Phone Link has access to the microphone.
Reset Phone Link App
- On your PC:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Phone Link
- Click Advanced Options > Reset
- Reconnect your phone and test again.
Try Using Phone Link via Wi-Fi Only
- Temporarily disable Bluetooth on the PC.
- Use Phone Link over Wi-Fi and test if audio works.
- This helps isolate if Bluetooth is the root cause.
Additional Tips:
- Ensure your Galaxy phone is running the latest Android version.
- Try using a different user account on the HP PC to rule out profile-specific issues.
- If the issue persists, consider using the Your Phone Companion app on the phone to re-establish a clean connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
