My All-in-One is about 4 years old but when using the internet, it is like the 1990's. I cannot have more than 5 tabs open, and when I try to open a website, it often goes sooooooo slow that a prompt comes up, asking me to Wait or Disregard search. Do I just need to buy a new computer or can this be fixed?

Hi @tjparris,
I understand your All-in-One PC is very slow when browsing the web, making it difficult to use multiple tabs or websites. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this and potentially improve performance before considering a new computer.
a. Check Available Memory and CPU Usage
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
Look at Memory and CPU usage when you open multiple tabs.
If usage is near 100%, your system may not have enough resources for modern web browsing.
b. Close Unnecessary Programs and Background Processes
In Task Manager, identify programs consuming high memory or CPU and close them.
Disable unnecessary startup programs: Ctrl + Shift + Esc → Startup tab → Disable items you don’t need.
c. Check Browser Extensions
Extensions can slow browsing.
Disable or remove unnecessary browser extensions in your web browser and test performance.
d. Clear Browser Cache
Old cache files can make web browsing sluggish.
Clear cache and cookies in your browser settings.
e. Update Software
Ensure Windows, browser, and drivers are up to date.
Outdated drivers or software can cause slow performance.
f. Scan for Malware or Adware
Run a full scan using Windows Defender or another trusted antivirus program.
Malware can significantly slow down web performance.
g. Check Internet Speed
Test your network speed using sites like speedtest.net.
A slow internet connection can cause websites to load slowly, especially with multiple tabs.
I hope this helps.
