@Debra82,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP All-in-One - 24 desktop is having network compatibility issues after upgrading to Wi-Fi 6. Since both Ethernet and Wi-Fi are not working, the issue could be related to drivers, settings, or compatibility with your router.

Check Device Manager for Network Adapters

  1. Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Network Adapters and look for:
    • Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Intel, Realtek, or Qualcomm)
    • Ethernet adapter (Realtek, Intel, or other)
  3. If either has a yellow triangle or is missing:
    • Right-click and choose Update driverSearch automatically.
    • If that fails, Uninstall device, then restart the PC.

Update Network Drivers Manually

  1. Go to HP Support (HP Drivers) and enter your PC model.
  2. Download and install the latest Wi-Fi and Ethernet drivers.
  3. Restart the PC and try connecting again.

Reset Network Settings

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator (search cmd, right-click, Run as Admin).
  2. Run these commands one by one:
    netsh winsock reset
    netsh int ip reset
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    ipconfig /flushdns
  3. Restart your PC and check the connection.

Check Router Settings

  • Some Wi-Fi 6 routers disable backward compatibility (Wi-Fi 5/4 devices).
  • Log into your router’s settings (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) and:
    • Enable 802.11ax backward compatibility (if available).
    • Try setting Wi-Fi to WPA2 instead of WPA3 (some older devices don’t support WPA3).
    • Disable "Wi-Fi 6 Only" mode and test.

Force Ethernet Connection

Since Ethernet shows 1000 Mbps but isn’t connecting:

  1. Go to Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → Change adapter settings.
  2. Right-click Ethernet, choose Properties.
  3. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) → Click Properties.
  4. Set IP Address and DNS to Automatic.
  5. Restart the PC and try again.

Check Windows Update & BIOS

  • Ensure Windows is fully updated (Settings → Windows Update).
  • Update the BIOS from HP's support site.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
