My internet connection became really bad two days ago and I was sure it's nothing but now when I ran speed test I saw 8 mpbs, something similar happened before so I discharged it by unplugging all the things connected to it and clicking the power button for 15-30 seconds, and saw as it worked last time I tried it one more time and the situation became better for 15 seconds (went up to 50 mpbs which is still lower than usual) then it went bad again, I really almost tried everything(windows support assistant, updating, restaring and more) anyone knows what can I do in order to fix it?

Hi @Daniel351,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating a sudden slowdown in your computer and internet speed can be. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issues:
1. Check for Background Processes:
- Open Task Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check the Processes tab. Look for any programs that are using excessive CPU or memory. If you find any that you don’t need, consider closing them.
2. Run a Virus Scan:
- Malware can significantly slow down your computer and internet. Run a full scan using your antivirus software. If you don’t have one, consider using Windows Defender or a free tool like Malwarebytes.
3. Network Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status. Scroll down and click on Network troubleshooter to diagnose and fix potential issues.
4. Check Internet Connection:
- Test your internet speed using a wired connection if possible. If your internet is still slow, it could be an issue with your ISP. You can also try restarting your modem/router.
5. Clear Temporary Files:
- Use Disk Cleanup to clear temporary files that may be slowing down your system:
- Type "Disk Cleanup" in the Windows search bar and open it.
- Select the drive you want to clean (usually C:).
- Check the boxes for the types of files you want to delete and click OK.
6. Update Network Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button) and find Network adapters. Right-click your adapter and select Update driver.
7. Disable Background Apps:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps and disable any apps you don’t need running in the background.
8. Reset Network Settings:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status. Scroll down and select Network reset. This will remove and reinstall all your network adapters and set other networking components back to their original settings.
9. Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure that your Windows is up to date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
10. Consider Reinstalling Windows:
- If the problem persists and you’re comfortable with it, consider backing up your data and performing a clean installation of Windows.
11. Contact Your ISP:
- If you continue to experience slow internet speeds, it may be worth contacting your Internet Service Provider to check for outages or issues in your area.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
