I just got them yesterday and everytime I put the battery into the mouse and keyboard, they just turn off after a couple of seconds. I don't know if I maybe need different battery or it's a problem with the thing itself.

Hi @Liam510,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the issue might be related to either the batteries or the devices themselves. Here are a few things you can check.
- Check the batteries: Ensure the batteries are fresh and inserted correctly. If the batteries are not new or are improperly inserted, it could cause the devices to turn off quickly. Try using a different set of batteries to rule out a battery issue.
- Battery type: Make sure you're using the recommended battery type (usually AA or AAA) as specified by the keyboard and mouse. Some devices require a specific type of battery for optimal performance.
- USB Receiver Connection: If the keyboard and mouse are wireless, make sure the USB receiver is securely plugged into the computer. A loose or faulty connection could cause them to disconnect intermittently.
- Pairing issue: If they are wireless and need to be paired, ensure that the keyboard and mouse are correctly paired with the receiver. You may need to follow a pairing process (usually pressing a button on both devices and the receiver) if it's the first time using them.
- Try another USB port: If the keyboard and mouse are connected via a USB receiver, try plugging the receiver into a different USB port on your computer to see if it makes a difference.
- Test on another device: If possible, test the keyboard and mouse on another computer to see if the issue persists. If they work fine on a different device, the problem might be with the computer or its settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
