Hi @Meenakshi5,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're experiencing with your HP Victus laptop having slow internet after waking from sleep is likely related to power management settings or a driver issue. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Update Network Drivers

Check for Updates:

  • Go to Device Manager:
    • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Network Adapters.
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Download from Manufacturer:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest Wi-Fi driver for your specific Victus model.

Rollback Driver (if recently updated):

  • In Device Manager, right-click the Wi-Fi adapter and select Properties.
  • Under the Driver tab, click Roll Back Driver if the option is available.

Adjust Power Management Settings

Disable Power-Saving Features:

  • In Device Manager, right-click the Wi-Fi adapter and select Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab.
  • Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  • Click OK.

Modify Advanced Power Settings:

  • Open Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Select Change plan settings for your active plan.
  • Click Change advanced power settings.
  • Expand Wireless Adapter Settings > Power Saving Mode.
  • Set both On battery and Plugged in to Maximum Performance.

Reset Network Configuration

Flush DNS and Reset TCP/IP:

  • Open Command Prompt (Run as Administrator).
  • Enter the following commands one by one:

netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

  • Restart your laptop.

Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
  • Click Manage known networks.
  • Select your network, click Forget, and reconnect with the password.

Check for Windows Updates

  1. Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  2. Check for and install any pending updates.

Disable Fast Startup

  1. Access Power Options:
    • Open Control Panel > Power Options.
    • Click Choose what the power buttons do from the left panel.
    • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  2. Disable Fast Startup:
    • Uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
    • Click Save changes.

Test the Issue

After performing these steps, test whether the internet connection works properly after the laptop wakes from sleep. If the issue persists, try restarting the router to ensure no conflict arises from your network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
