Hi @Aayushraj05 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your WiFi option is not showing up on your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-Eg1000, and you can't connect to a wireless network, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue. Let's go through them one by one:
Check the WiFi Switch/Function Key:
- Ensure that the physical WiFi switch (if available) on your laptop is turned on.
- Some laptops have a function key (e.g., F12) that toggles the WiFi on and off. Try pressing it (sometimes in combination with the Fn key) to see if it enables WiFi.
Check Airplane Mode:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Airplane mode.
- Make sure Airplane mode is turned off and WiFi is turned on.
Restart Your Laptop:
- A simple restart can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
Check Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Network adapters section and look for your WiFi adapter (it might be labeled as something like Intel(R) Wireless, Realtek, or similar).
- If you see a yellow triangle or red cross, right-click on the adapter and select Enable or Update driver.
- If the WiFi adapter is not listed, right-click anywhere in the Device Manager window and select Scan for hardware changes.
Update or Reinstall WiFi Driver:
- Right-click on your WiFi adapter in Device Manager and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If no updates are found, visit the HP support website and download the latest WiFi driver for your specific laptop model. Install it manually.
Network Reset:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Scroll down and click on Network reset.
- Follow the instructions to reset your network settings. This will reinstall network adapters and set other networking components back to their default settings.
Check BIOS Settings:
- Sometimes, WiFi can be disabled in the BIOS. Restart your laptop and press F10 (or another key, depending on your laptop model) to enter the BIOS setup.
- Look for a setting related to the wireless network and ensure it is enabled.
Windows Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select Additional troubleshooters and then Internet Connections.
- Run the troubleshooter and follow the instructions.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Check for updates and install any that are available.
Hardware Issue: HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures
- If none of the above steps work, it's possible there might be a hardware issue with your WiFi adapter.
