NAS appears ok on other networked devices (Android, Windows 10 and 11), but not on my new HP Pavillion 360.
I can see other networked computers in Windows explorer, and the media server on the NAS, but not the NAS or its cotent folders.

I am guessing based on how my synology works
The media folders will always show up as they are read only
All other folders require credentials. You probably forgot to save credentials or your are setting it up for someone else and their system does not have admin rights.
Using the file manager, from the "My Pc" enter the address of your NAS
\\ErminNasArchive
put in username and password and check the [x]
The shared folders will show up unless you are using a different login name that is not on the shared folder permission list.
If you are setting up someone else's computer they may not have the admin rights that you do.
Once the NAS show up you can map the shared folders to a drive letter
What NAS are you using?
There is usually a connection log that can be looked at to see what went wrong.

Thanks for your prompt reply.Unfortunately ,your answer does not reflect the situation (as I described it)
1) My NAS is an (now old) ZyXEL NSA325 v2. It has its own (clunky) media server (called Twonky) that I mentioned. Media (video, music, photos) folders and files can all be accessed in Twonky using this new laptop (Wndows 11 Home).
2) The point is that the NAS itself does not otherwise show up using this new laptop.(eg in Wndows explorer) and so I can't access anything (except through Twonky). I have folders containing books (epub files), documents (txt, word, pdf etc) and various backups of software or data - can't access any of them.
3) There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the NAS or its contents - it all works fine.on other computers (eg Windows Xp, 10 and 11, Android tablets and phones). I can access all files and folders

Twonky uses DLNA and you need to read this discussion over at Microsoft. It is a windows 11 thing and Twonky uses DLNA.
You can probably get better help a the Twonky forum

Let me know what you find out. Also, you might post what you like about Twonky as I am curious for my own benefit.
