HP Desktop M01-F3224 doesn't print to my Wireless HP OfficeJet Pro 8710,  except for a test page.  Otherwise, the computer wants me to save the page I want to print.

Hi @vickieandthegir

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP Desktop M01-F3224 is encountering a printing issue where it only prints test pages and prompts you to save other print jobs instead of printing them.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this:

1. Check Default Printer Settings

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Ensure your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is set as the default printer:
    • Right-click the printer and select Set as Default Printer.

2. Update Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710.
  • Updated drivers can resolve compatibility issues and improve functionality.

3. Verify Print Settings

  • When printing, ensure the correct printer is selected in the print dialog box.
  • Check the print settings to ensure the output is set to Print and not Save as PDF.

4. Restart Print Spooler Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate Print Spooler in the list, right-click it, and select Restart.

5. Test with Another Device

  • Try printing from another device (e.g., a laptop or smartphone) to determine if the issue is specific to your desktop.

6. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP Support website.
  • This tool can diagnose and fix common printing issues.
