I  bought a new HP X3000 wireless mouse to replace my old HP SM2061 mouse. The mouse works-it scrolls up and down, etc BUT when I click on a box to type something nothing happens. Maybe the new mouse isn't compatible with my older PC? Any suggestions? Or do I have to buy another HP SM2061 from ebay? I wish I could buy a newer mouse.

Hi@Naka1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The mouse is plug and play devices, not a compatibility issue.

Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps from the document:-
