Hi @Dchat101,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
The desktop PC and the wifi does not work on it. You see that the wireless card is absent in the device manager. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
The absence of the wireless card in the device manager indicates that the wireless card is not detected by the PC. To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did any hardware changes take place on the PC recently?
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Shutdown the PC.
- Disconnect all cables including the power cable from the PC. Also, disconnect any devices.
- Press and hold the power button of the PC for 10 seconds.
- Reconnect the devices and the power cable and power on the PC.
If the wifi card is still absent in the device manager then I suggest you to perform the BISO defaults on the PC:
- Power on the PC and hit the F10 key repeatedly to enter the BIOS.
- On the BIOS screen hit the F9 key again and it will give a message saying to reset the BIOS to defaults. Select Yes.
- Press F10 again to save and exit.
If the wifi still does not work then you may have to reseat the wireless card in the PC. Please refer to this document
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
