PCI Simple Communications Controller Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_2AC2103C&REV_04

Thanks.

This is a tough nut to crack.

Both of those drivers should have worked.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the last driver file I posted.

[Intel.NTamd64]
; DisplayName Section DeviceId
%HECI_DeviceDesc%=HECI_DDI_x64, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A

Try to manually install the driver as follows...

Go to the device manager, click on the PCI simple comms controller needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the location of the unpacked driver file folder.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp54425.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

If not, I'll see what other drivers that have that ID there are that you can try.

I posted hardware ID before seeing your alternative link.

LOOKS like '25 worked, completed restart and the (!) flags are all gone from Device Manager list.

...Still cannot open the login page for Malwarebytes to download my current account package. Is that because I need to do a minimum MS update catch-up?

Thanks Paul!

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Yes, I would say you have to do a slew of updates because most likely you are on IE8 with a clean install of W7.

Download another browser such as firefox or chrome for now, so you can log into your account.

Then once W7 lets you upgrade to IE11, you should be good to go and you can uninstall the 3rd party browser if you want.

I wanted to summarize here for others with the same system.

HP Pavilion HPE
Product no. QN557AA#ABA

PCI Simple Communications Controller Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_2AC2103C&REV_04

4 Drivers needed but not installed from W7HP, I have them gathered together on a USB drive but cannot paste here.

Thanks again, Paul!
