I have a Pavilion p6402f.  I have troubleshooted and guessing the antenna on my adapter is bad.  The HP troubleshooter said the wifi adapter or access point was bad.  Bought a USB WiFi Adapter to install but stuck on whether I need to remove the adapter installed in the unit now.

@CowboyKen,

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether you need to remove the wireless card on the computer to use a USB wireless adapter.

You can go ahead and use the USB wireless adapter without removing the wireless card on the computer. In case if you are facing any issue or interference with the internal wireless card then, you can go to the device manager and then disable the wireless card.

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
