Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have recently re-installed my windows 7, and the first thing I noticed was that I don't have internet. I did the troubleshoot and after using the troubleshoot to find internet access, I receive a message saying: "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-instal the driver." I went into device manager, and under "Other devices" I found that "Ethernet controller, Network Controller, PCI Simple Communications Controller, SM Bus controller" have an exclamation mark. Any thoughts?  I have tried many exe files from websites, sp53663, 54972, 55083, 55342, and others for other laptops, and nothing. PLEASE HELP!

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.

Hi:

Based on the product number you posted, you have a  HP PAVILION G6T-1D00 CTO NOTEBOOK PC.

Here are the links to the drivers you need for the devices you listed, except for the Network Controller (wifi adapter).

SM Bus controller:  Install this driver first and restart the PC.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55095.exe

PCI Simple Comms controller:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55100.exe

Ethernet Controller:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55040.exe

Since your model is a CTO model that means HP could have installed one of several different model wifi adapters in your notebook.

So...please post the hardware ID for the Network Controller device, so I can figure out exactly what model is in your notebook and then I can post the link to the correct driver you need for it.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

After installing, I now have this new issue under Network Adapters. There is no Other devices option anymore.

Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter: This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) Is this because i ran the above sp programs off of a flashdrive?
Please Help! Sorry for late reply.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with that issue.

Now that you know what drivers you need, I recommend you reinstall W7, and install the correct driver for the RTL8188CE wifi adapter first.

There is a newer driver for that model wifi adapter than the one on your notebook's support page...
