I have the same issue as OP. 

 

I am unable to see any wireless adapter on device manager AT ALL. There is none listed so I can't uninstall/reinstall the driver. 

 

I tried installing the realtek RTL8xxx wireless adapter driver but the wireless device still does not show up.
