Hi:

 

Yes, you should use the 5.0 GHz band whenever possible.

 

The signal strength is usually weaker on the 5.0 GHz wifi band, but the connection speed is usually faster.

 

So if you don't have an AC router, then 150 is the max you will be able to get on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.

 

You will only get 433 MBPS with an AC router on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.
