You have me at an disadantage.  I was sure of the board/adapter was bad.

Your manual update download worked.

Now,  I am trying to figure out how that same driver is loaded by 7 zip,  and I couldn't from HP driver support.??

Maybe a different version than HP driver?

When you run the exe file, it is erroring out for some unknown reason.

 

It is the same file, so it is the same driver.

 

When you install the driver the way I suggested, you bypass the program that checks the operating system and hardware for compatibility, and go right to where the driver is stored.  That way no errors are generated.

 

The bottom line is the ethernet driver is installed, and all is well.
