Replacement Wifi Adapter

Hi,

I'd like to replace my Wifi Adapter (Realtek 8723BE 802.11 bgn) by a new one compatible Wifi6 (802.11 ax). Could you please give me the references of this new device, compatible with my HP Pavilion ?

Hi:

You will have to open up your notebook and check the number of antenna wires that are connected to the Wi-Fi card, or at least verify there are two antenna wires to connect to a Wi-Fi 6 card.

The parts list only lists one antenna wire kit and it is a dual antenna kit.

Normally, notebooks with the Realtek 8723BE Wi-Fi adapter only come with one antenna wire.

If your notebook has two antenna wires, you should be able to upgrade to this model Wi-Fi adapter:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11ax 2 × 2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5.0     HP part # L35282-005

If not, unless you order the antenna kit part number shown in chapter 3 of the service manual, a Wi-Fi 6 card will not work properly.

If you notebook only has one antenna wire, compromise and install this Wi-Fi 5 card which only needs one antenna wire to work.
