Hi All,,
I just want to be quick to the problem i am facing since i bought the Hp Laptop Model - 15s-fy5003TU
The remote desktop Connection is literally slow as compared to other desktops and laptops in my Office .
No matter how fast the Data Speed is the loading of remote desktop connection is slow and loads blurry all the time.
The network bar on top upon click says that " your network might be slow. You may experience issues"
Meanwhile , its not like that in other Pcs , the rdp loads real quick and functions super smooth.
Kindly help out with this
My device is running windows 11 home

Hi @AA347,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Slow remote desktop connections can be frustrating, especially when other devices in the same network perform better. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue with your HP Laptop Model - 15s-fy5003TU:
1. Check Network Connection
- Wired vs. Wireless: If you're using Wi-Fi, try connecting your laptop directly to the router with an Ethernet cable to see if it improves the performance.
- Network Speed Test: Run a speed test on your laptop to ensure it is getting the same speeds as other devices.
2. Update Network Drivers
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest network drivers for your laptop.
- Install the updated drivers and restart your laptop.
3. Adjust Remote Desktop Settings
- Display Settings: Lower the display resolution and color depth in the Remote Desktop settings. Go to the Remote Desktop Connection window, click on "Show Options", then the "Display" tab. Adjust the display configuration.
- Experience Settings: In the same window, go to the "Experience" tab and choose the appropriate connection speed. Uncheck features like “Desktop background,” “Font smoothing,” and “Visual styles” to improve performance.
4. Disable Network Throttling Index
- Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters.
- If NetworkThrottlingIndex exists, double-click it and set its value to ffffffff (8 f's).
- If it doesn’t exist, right-click on Parameters, select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, name it NetworkThrottlingIndex, and set its value to ffffffff.
Kindly check the next steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @AA347,
Please find the next steps below.
5. Optimize TCP/IP Settings
- Press Win + X and select "Command Prompt (Admin)" or "Windows PowerShell (Admin)".
- Run the following commands
6. Disable IPv6
- Go to "Control Panel" > "Network and Sharing Center" > "Change adapter settings".
- Right-click on your network connection, select "Properties".
- Uncheck "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and click OK.
7. Check for Background Applications
- Ensure that there are no bandwidth-heavy applications running in the background. Applications like cloud backups, updates, or downloads can affect network performance.
- Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to check for any high network usage applications and close them if necessary.
8. Update Remote Desktop Client
- Ensure that your Remote Desktop Client is up to date. Visit the Microsoft Store or the official website to download the latest version.
9. Firewall and Security Software
- Check if your firewall or security software is interfering with the Remote Desktop connection. Temporarily disable them to see if it improves performance.
10. Windows Updates
- Make sure your operating system is up to date. Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.
By following these steps, you should be able to improve the performance of your remote desktop connection. If the problem persists, it could be an issue specific to your laptop's hardware or a deeper network configuration problem, I recommend you contact phone support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi ,
Thanks for your response
I would like to inform that all my drivers , softwares are updated already.
& Lowering display will make the experience worse because it already loads in poor quality , further i am using same wifi for each laptop / desktop in my office so Network is not an issue.
Though i tried the registry edit thing and turned off IPV6 but unfortunately i didnt make a difference but yeah for the Command prompts after Registry Edit , the second command failed
So , is there any more to try?
I would be gratefull if it gets sorted
Thanks Again
