Hi @JoeSartor,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP wireless keyboard is not responding after cleaning, there are a few things you can check to ensure it is functioning properly. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially unlock your HP wireless keyboard:
Check for Physical Switches:
- Some wireless keyboards have physical switches for locking or disabling certain functions. Check the sides or bottom of your keyboard for any switches and make sure they are in the correct position.
Battery Check:
- Ensure that the batteries in your wireless keyboard are not depleted. Replace them with fresh batteries if needed.
Reconnection:
- If you've removed the keyboard's USB receiver during cleaning, make sure it is securely plugged back into the computer.
Restart the Computer:
- Sometimes, simply restarting your computer can resolve connectivity issues with wireless devices.
Check Wireless Receiver:
- Verify that the wireless receiver is not damaged and is properly connected to a functional USB port on your computer.
Check for Special Function Keys:
- Look for any special function keys on your keyboard that might have been pressed accidentally. Some keyboards have keys that can lock or disable certain features.
Reset Keyboard:
- Turn off the keyboard, and if it has a Connect or Reset button, press it. Then turn the keyboard back on.
Driver Update:
- Ensure that your computer has the latest drivers for the keyboard. You can check the manufacturer's website for driver updates. Click here
Check for Interference:
- Wireless devices can be affected by interference. Make sure there are no other wireless devices or sources of interference nearby. Also, avoid placing the wireless receiver near metal objects.
Try Another USB Port:
- Connect the wireless receiver to a different USB port on your computer to see if the issue persists.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, it's possible that a specific key or function is stuck. I recommend you contact phone support.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
