Updating my deskto WiF Adapter
06-25-2019 02:56 PM

I have an HP Slimline Desktop PC 270-p0xx model No: Z5N47AA#ABA. It has a Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgnWiFi adapter. I would like to upgrade to a 5 GHz adapter (maybe dual band?). Is it possible and what suggestions for a replacement?
I really would like to have access to 5 GHz and any help would be appreciated. 👽

Hi:
How many antenna cables are connected to the Realtek RTL8723BE wifi card in there now?
That will have a bearing on what wifi card you can upgrade to.
Here is the link to the upgrading and servicing guide for how to open up the PC.

Once you let me know that info, I will recommend a suitable upgrade.

That is correct.
There will be one or two very thin and delicate wires going to the wifi card which is located flat on the motherboard.
The card will look like this...

Thanx. I'll open it up tonight and let you know what I see.

Sorry I haven't got back to you with the answers, but I was hospitalized unexpectedly. I will open the computer and get back to you.
