Dear all,

I'd like to upgrade my WiFi card to Wifi 6(5Ghz) for my PC desktop HP Pavilion  500-566nf.

Any suggestions, please..?

Thanks!

The wireless card is in your screenshot above the left side of the memory chips.

You can see the single Wi-Fi antenna wire attached to it.

As I replied earlier, there are no dual band wifi 6 cards in the shape of the card your PC has.

They are all of the M.2 form factor except the one I posted and again...the card will not work right with only one antenna wire.

There is a free PCIe x1 slot to the right of the graphics card.

I just hope that there is enough clearance between the slot and the graphics card fan for the Wi-Fi adapter to fit.

It looks like there is.

Hi:

I looked at the parts list for your PC, and it appears that it only has one antenna wire connected to the RTL8188EE Wi-Fi adapter your PC comes with.

HP PartSurfer

A dual band Wi-Fi 6 card would require two antenna wires in order to work properly and the RTL8188EE is of the Half Mini Card (HMC) form factor and there is only one place I know of that makes Wi-Fi 6 cards with the HMC form factor.

Amazon.com: WiFi 6E Half Mini PCI-E WiFi Network Card 802.11AX AC MPE-AXE3000H 2.4GHz 5GHz 6GHz 5400...

What I recommend you do if your PC has one of those PCIe x1 slots available would be to install a PCIe x1 Wi-Fi 6 adapter.

Something like this.  They come with external antennas and a USB cable to work the Bluetooth (Wi-Fi works from the PCIe x1 slot).

You connect the USB cable to the Wi-Fi adapter and the other end plugs into your PC's black 9-pin USB header which looks like it is to the right of the SATA data ports in your PC's motherboard picture on the link you posted.

Something like this:

TP-Link WiFi 6 Carte WiFi PCIe AX1800 Archer TX20E, Bluetooth 5.2, Adaptateur Réseau sans Fil avec 2...

I thought to replace a current wifi card by another one.

But cannot see any Wifi card inside of my Desktop (See photo attached).

it seems there is no PCIe x1 slot.

I set the PCIe x1 now.

will install the Wifi card you have recommanded.

Thank you for all.

You're very welcome.

The 9-pin USB header connection is probably buried under all those other things, but the motherboard illustration on the link you posted shows its relative location next to the SATA data ports.
