How can I delete Bluetooth internet connection and connect to a regular home  internet connection(WiFi). How can I connect to WiFi if my computer isn’t showing the globe or bar icon in the bottom right screen ?

Hi  @RobertM05,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how it can be when your computer doesn’t show the usual WiFi icon and instead connects through Bluetooth. Dont worry let me help you with this.

Could you please share the below details :

  • The exact HP laptop or desktop model you’re using
  • Which version of Windows is installed (Windows 10 or 11)
  • Whether you’ve recently updated drivers or connected new devices

Here are few steps you can try:

1.Check WiFi Adapter Status

Your computer may not be detecting the WiFi adapter.

Press Win + R → type devmgmt.msc → Enter

Expand Network adapters

Look for a wireless adapter (e.g., Intel Wireless, Realtek WiFi)

If missing, the driver may need reinstalling

2.Enable WiFi via Settings

Sometimes WiFi is disabled in Windows settings.

Go to Settings → Network & Internet → WiFi

Ensure WiFi toggle is switched ON

If you only see Bluetooth, click Advanced network settings to confirm WiFi adapter presence

3.Run Network Troubleshooter

Windows can automatically detect and fix common issues.

Go to Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Additional troubleshooters

Select Internet Connections

Run the troubleshooter and follow on-screen instructions

4.Update or Reinstall WiFi Driver

Outdated or missing drivers can cause the WiFi icon to disappear.

Device Manager → Right-click WiFi adapter → Update driver

Choose Search automatically for drivers

If not found, visit HP’s support website  https://support.hp.com/ for your model and download the latest WiFi driver.

I hope this helps.
