I'm looking for the driver needed to make this wifi card work.

Serial number: [Personal Information Removed]

Product number: QU092AA#ABC

Model number: h8-1112c

Looking it up online didn't help; the HP website told me there were multiple results for that serial number, but did not recognize the product or model numbers. My LAN port is busted and causes crashes whenever I try to use ethernet, no matter the cable.

Hi:

What operating system do you need the driver for?

Can't help you without knowing that info.

The model # of the Wi-Fi card is:

Broadcom BCM943225HMB

W10 should have automatically installed a driver for that model Wi-Fi adapter.

Hi Paul,

I'm trying to run Windows 11 on it, though I assume a Windows 10 driver would work. I've bypassed the TPM requirement for that OS, but the auto-detect for wifi to connect is not happening. Is there an offline installer available for that Broadcom card? (Thank you for the model number.) I'm not finding anything so far outside of Linux.

You're very welcome.

Apparently, there is no W10 standalone driver for that model Wi-Fi adapter, so you will have to hope the one for W8.1 works.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66495.exe

Try manually installing the driver if the auto install method doesn't work.

The Wi-Fi card will be labeled as a Network Controller in the device manager when the driver is not installed.

If that doesn't work either you have two options:

Purchase a dual band USB Wi-Fi adapter.

You can try and replace the Broadcom card that superseded the BCM943225HMB Wi-Fi adapter:

Broadcom BCM943228HMB WiDi 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo HP part # 730668-001.

You should be able to find this model Wi-Fi card on eBay.

Search by the HP part number.

730668-001 for sale | eBay

W11 should automatically install a driver for it, but it would be a W10 driver that is installed.

Thanks to that model number I've found the answer:

Microsoft Update Catalog

Using the most recent driver update by Microsoft, my wifi adapter works just great. For the next person looking into this solution, be warned you may have to:

1. Restart Windows into Advanced Startup Settings (hold the Shift key while you restart Windows)

2. Choose Advanced Startup Settings

3. Select option 7) Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

4. From there, boot Windows and go to Device Manager

5. Right click on your wireless network adapter. Select Update Driver, then click Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer > Have Disk > Browse... > (in this case, with Microsoft's Driver package) bcmwdi.inf

6. At this point, you should be done. Run Windows Update and get your other drivers in order

As for Paul's reply concerning the separate driver from HP or external wifi adapter, those would have been my second and third choices had this not worked out. Thanks again Paul!

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

That's interesting.

I wish I had known that driver would have worked because here is the link to the W10 driver from HP.

It is the last version HP had but Windows update installs .352 afterward.

The thing is, on the release notes that model Wi-Fi adapter is not listed.
