Not likely.
If your computer and your printer are connected -- Ethernet cable or WiFi -- to the same router (or cable-modem/router box that is supplied by your Internet Service Provider), and your devices are set to "automatically obtain IP address", then the two devices should get different IP-addresses, and thus co-exist on your home network.

It sounds like you've configured the printer for a "wifi direct" connection. It becomes an "either/or" condition.
This connects your computer directly to the printer, and not through your router. Reconfigure the printer to attach to your router, and turn off Wifi Direct.
