I'm configuring a computer and want to know which networking option is best: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (1x1) or (2x2) for $20 more?

@fitrich1, welcome to the forum.
The 1x1 wireless card is single band (2.4 GHz). The 2x2 is dual band (2.4 GHz / 5.0 GHz). I recommend the 2x2 AC card. This allows you to use 5.0 if it is available.
