After installing windows updates my wi-fi adapter has disappeared. I can't install the drivers because it's not showing it exists at all. I can still connect using an ethernet cable, but after trying several fixes that I found I'm still left with no ability to connect wirelessly.

If your Wi-Fi adapter has disappeared after installing Windows updates, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Check Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start Menu and select Device Manager.
- Look for Network Adapters. If your Wi-Fi adapter is not listed or has a yellow exclamation mark, it might need to be reinstalled or updated.
Run Windows Update Again:
- Ensure all updates are installed to potentially fix compatibility issues.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on Check for updates.
Use HP Support Assistant:
- HP Support Assistant can help find missing drivers and updates specific to your HP device.
- Launch the HP Support Assistant from the Start Menu or the task bar.
- Go to the Updates section and check for any driver updates for your Wi-Fi adapter.
Update Drivers Manually:
- Go to HP's Support and Drivers page.
- Enter your product model number to find the appropriate drivers.
- Download and install the latest Wi-Fi adapter drivers from there.
Roll Back Windows Update:
- If running updates or installing drivers does not resolve the issue, consider rolling back to the previous update.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history.
- Select Uninstall updates and roll back the update that might have caused the issue.
Check BIOS Settings:
- Ensure the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled in your BIOS settings.
- Restart your computer and press the BIOS setup key (typically F10, F2, or Delete) during boot.
- Navigate to the Networking or Wireless section in BIOS and ensure the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
