Hi @LAPTOP-C9PSRFIJ

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing this—I'm really sorry you're facing this issue. Based on the error message shown in Device Manager (This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed}), your Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX211 adapter is failing to initialize properly, even though it's still visible in Windows. This can happen due to driver corruption, firmware conflicts, or power management settings.

Let’s walk through a focused recovery process to help restore your Wi-Fi module:

Step-by-Step Fix for Intel Wi-Fi Adapter (Code 10 Error)

1. Uninstall and Reinstall the Driver Completely

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Right-click Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz > Uninstall device.
  • Check “Delete the driver software for this device” if available.
  • Restart your laptop.

Then install the correct driver manually:

2. Disable Power Saving for the Adapter

  • In Device Manager, right-click the Wi-Fi adapter > Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab.
  • Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”

3. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Outdated firmware can prevent the Wi-Fi module from initializing.

4. Run HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics

This checks if the Wi-Fi module is functioning at the hardware level.

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to enter diagnostics.
  • Run the Wireless Module Test under Component Tests.

If the module passes diagnostics but still fails in Windows, it’s likely a driver or OS-level issue.

5. Reset Network Settings

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings.
  • Click Network reset.
  • Restart your laptop—this reinstalls all network adapters and clears configuration conflicts.

If the issue persists after these steps, let me know your exact HP laptop model and whether the adapter ever worked after a recent update or reinstall. We’ll dig deeper together.

You're doing everything right—let’s get your wireless connection back on track.
